Livre d'art "en Puisaye" 

Created in 1973 by Robert and Lydie Dutrou, R.L.D. Publishing Company is known in all the world for it's one of the last which realizes lithographs, etchings and artbooks in very high quality, on 19th century presses.

The “En Puisaye” collection is composed by art books which are manually typeset and illustrated with original lithographs. They are published twice a year. The number 21 is dedicated to Sofia Leconte Mitev, first woman chosen to realize this book.

500 issues of Number 21 by Sofia Leconte-Mitev were printed on Rivoli paper, with 4 original tooled lithographs.

80 issues of a special version include a numbered and signed original etching.

At the Dutrous’, everything is set by hand, from the text to the engravings.Editions R.L.D. incarnates loyalty to the noblest aspects of the craft, drawing from the well of the best traditions of creating books.

The lithography technique allows longer print runs, at higher speeds, than printing engravings. The process uses a damp block of limestone on which the work is drawn in fat. Inking is done with an oily ink which only sticks to the fatty parts of the stone.

From the “horned beast” to the two Voirins from the end of the 19th century, all the machines still work perfectly.
